About

So. I spent a number of years proving to myself that I could draw from life. I did this by getting up every morning, drawing something, and posting the result to Flickr. Good or bad. I did this so that I could make abstract-er art. Then a few years ago I decided to “get into the ring” with oils. You know, serious art.

The terrific Amy Sillman says that a major turning point in her development came when a professor told her that she had to choose between representation and abstraction. Her reaction was “the hell I do.”
